The House of the Dragon season 3 filming start window has been confirmed. The Game of Thrones spinoff series released season 2 in summer 2024. The sophomoric effort was met with mixed reviews from audiences, many of whom were frustrated by the House of the Dragon season 2 finale. Nonetheless, the series is confirmed to have a season 3, which will continue the story of the inter-Targaryen struggle for power. House of the Dragon season 3 is currently expected to release in 2026. Showrunner Ryan Condal reveals the filming timeline for House of the Dragon season 3 on The Stuff Dreams are Made Of podcast. According to the showrunner, the filming will begin in the first quarter of 2025 and end in late fall. He also mentioned that he does have a start date for production, but does not want to reveal it quite yet. In addition to revealing the filming start window, Condal teased the season itself, saying it is the "best" and most "outlandish" yet.
